Jonathan Gray blogged about what the OKFN is doing to open the public domain. He freely admits this is “massively ambitious”, which I say kudos to him. I think it’s a good step towards collectively doing something to make public domain works more accessible and leveraging the the collective power of work in public domain around the world.

Yeah, this is going to be a lot of work, but I wish the OKFN all the success and I think we all need to get involved. Librarians, we keep talking about this sort of thing. Let’s get active and take our muscle to them. That just seems like a partnership made in heaven. So join up! (I’m talking about the mailing list. Do it!)
